Ozone
At NMotion Sports and Human Performance, we are proud to be among the few practices in the state that offer Ozone therapy to our clients. When you first hear the word “ozone,” you might not immediately think of it as something that can benefit your health. On first thought, you might think of the ozone layer in our Earth’s atmosphere that helps protect us from ultraviolet radiation from the sun. However, ozone does have many properties that can make it beneficial for people’s health.
Ozone (O3) is a molecule that contains three atoms of oxygen, rather than the two that we normally breathe. Ozone is an energized form of oxygen. Ozone therapy involves taking a small amount of blood out of the body (usually about 330 cc), and then treating it with ozone before putting the newly treated blood back into the body. There are many benefits that Ozone treatments can have on the body.
Ozone Treatment Benefits:
- Boost Oxygen and Energy Levels: Medical ozone activates red blood cell (RBC) metabolism by binding to RBCs and improving the release from the RBC to the tissue that needs it. At the same time, it also increases the production of ATP, the energy required by the RBC to perform its function. These processes allow more oxygen to circulate throughout the body and get to the tissues in our body, optimizing our metabolic functions.
- Boosts and Balances the Immune System: Medical ozone jump-starts our immune systems by stimulating special messenger cells communicating with our immune systems and boosting their response. These ozone treatments can provide added immune support if your immunity levels are low. In the case of autoimmune responses, it will help bring our immune system back into balance.
- Reduces Oxidative Stress Levels: Medical ozone treatments can help prevent oxidative stress levels by regulating our bodies’ antioxidant enzymes as well as reducing the negative impacts that oxidative stress can have on our bodies over time.
With repeated treatments over time, medical ozone can:
- Increase the body’s energy levels.
- Increase your stamina throughout the day.
- Lead to better sleep patterns.
- Improve memory.
- Increase our resilience to stress.
- Increases the body’s rate of recovery from a variety of chronic symptoms.
Ozone therapy can be an impactful treatment for those suffering from specific conditions. Various conditions are responsive to ozone treatments, and their effects can be reduced with repeated treatments over a period determined by our providers. Some of these conditions include:
- Chronic fatigue
- Long COVID
- Fibromyalgia
- Chemical sensitivities
- Chronic allergies
- LYME disease
- Osteo and Rheumatoid arthritis
- Autoimmune diseases
- Peripheral artery disease
- Dementia and cerebral vascular disease
- Diabetic circulatory disease
- Cancer (complementary treatment)
- Asthma and COPD
If you are interested in seeing if ozone treatments could be a good option for you, call us at 405-515-4040 today to speak with one of our providers and develop an ozone treatment plan customized to your body’s specific needs.
